Rude, thoughtless and only after your £££'s

I have had to put 1 star to review it but if I could put 0 I would. My partner joined this gym and initially she thought it was ok. Before Christmas she wanted to either suspend or cancel her membership as we weren't going to be in the area for most of December and January and money was tight over the festive period. She phoned the gym to ask to speak with the manager to discuss cancelling/suspending the membership and was told they would get back to her the next day as the manager was busy that day - of course the manager didn't get back to her, even the next day so my partner phoned again, explained the situation to the girl on the phone and said she was going to cancel her direct debit to which she was told "Fine" and hung up on - not exactly customer friendly. So we got back to Nottingham after Christmas this week to find a letter saying she owed the gym 2 months of fees plus a "administration fee" due to the cancellation of the DD. after much discussions with the gyms credit company, it turns out because my partner didn't inform them she was cancelling the membership in the correct way, she would have to pay for the 2 months of fees plus the admin fee - and apparently the manager had the option justo charge for the 1 month but told the credit company she wanted both months fees in full. We tried to explain we phoned and spoke to someone at the gym to say we were cancelling and were treated rudely to just be told "even if you have phone records, that doesn't prove you we're phoning to cancel your membership". So, as this review title reads, fountain gym in west Bridgford doesn't care one bit for its customers - just the money they bring in and if a member doesn't want to be with them anymore, then they will bleed every last penny out of them that they can. DON'T USE THIS GYM - ROKO and David Lloyd are much nicer and much more customer focussed.
