They got 1 star because you cant leave less. They kept me waiting over half an hour just to tell me they didn't have the meds on my prescription in stock & told me to return on Monday. On Monday, after waiting 20mins, they told me they wont have any till September (its now March). I went to Tiverton Boots who looked on the computer & said that Exeter did have some. If I have to go back to Exeter again, this will have cost me £45 in fuel. WANKERS.

Hi, I live in Hull, I noticed that our local paper Hull daily mail was advertising an offer on the soap and glory make up set from £50 to £25. As I only use all soap and glory products, when I saw this offer I thought fantastic I need to get this before they sell out. So I went on your website on 20/09 to buy one or two, it was advertised as £25 but out of stock, when the option to check which store had in stock I put in my postcode and it showed that kingswood and prospect centre had them in stock. So today 21/09 i checked again online to see if it was still in stock again your website stated it was but at the different price of £50. I thought it must be on offer in the shops. So I went into the town centre only to be told it’s not in stock yet I explained the web site says you do I just got told it’s wrong we don’t have it. I thought well that wasn’t very good customer service as I work in retail myself it was unacceptable. So then I went to the other side of town to kingswood to get one from there as your website stated again it was in stock, again I got told not in stock yet. I find this unacceptable as your web site is all wrong. I took time out of my day off to go from one end of hull to the other for something that your website states is in stock when it isn’t. What a total waste of my day off and money I’ve wasted on travel. I’m appalled by this. I’ve had a wasted day off work travelling around. I hope to hear from you very soon about this matter. As really it’s false advertising.

I must post this review about the male pharmacist ( I think his name was Mark) who was on duty at the Grimsby (101) Freshney Place Boots on 23rd May 2017. THANK YOU for your patient & professionalism when dealing with and solving my prescription problem. I shall be writing to your head office to inform them of how you dealt with my prescription problem and my gratitude to you and hope you get a pat on the back from your employers.

It took me an age today to get a much-needed prescription filled at Whitehaven branch , including walking back to the doctor's surgery and back again to the store. I wasn't feeling well to start with and the staff needed their arm twisted up their back to grudgingly do their job.

First of all I have had a letter to say my eye test is due when I had one a few weeks ago, I was not happy with the service as I was given the option of 4 o clock or 4 50, I took the 4 & I got there just before. I sat for over half an hour when a man asked a member of staff how long he would be, he was asked his appointment time & it was 4 .5o he was then told he would be next on which hearing this I got up & asked how long I would be, the lady asked my name, looked at a paper then said oh oh you will be next, in other words they were so busy talking they had forgotten about me. There is a table near the waiting area where half a dozen staff members stand & talk which I have noticed every time I go in. My mother in law went for an eye test & they kept her nearly an hour & a half, at 93 that should not have happened, a gentleman heard me complain & he said they always get his glasses wrong so he will not use Boots again, I have heard more people say the same, there seems to be more staff than customers so they have time to talk, not good for Boots who have always had a good reputation but not now & I will not use them again. I feel like the big issue with alot of boots staff is the turnover rate of staff. The problem is that boots do not offer gratitude an incentives for their staff when it is needed, the organisation and equipment provided by management is also a joke. I witnessed this first hand in my own store last year. What happens is all the staff that are polite , helpful and good at their job feel unappreciated and fed up with management and leave, and then you are left with people who can't be bothered to do their job properly, and the few that are struggling with bills so they have to stay. I have witnessed dedicated staff who have worked in a certain branch for over 20 years be bullied and forgotten and seen people who doing nothing and are rude, sleep with management and become manager of their branch. Someone needs to teach boots John Adair's action centred leadership model.

The service is appalling. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. They very rarely answer the phone. My elderly Mother is disabled and bed bound and has to rely on family members to collect her prescriptions, but without exception prescriptions are never ready when they are supposed to be, if in fact the staff can locate her prescriptions at all even though the Dr staff know the prescriptions have been collected by Boots staff - Boots is situated on the same grounds as the Drs practice, 100 yards from the practice. It is extremely unusual if only one trip per pick up is required, very often 2 or 3 trips have to be made for each pick up due to the Boots staff's incompetency. My Mother has regular prescriptions (every fortnight) for controlled painkillers amongst others which even after several years the staff routinely forget to order which means my mother goes without pain medication etc until the following day when it gets delivered. We have witnessed many other customers complaining bitterly about the quality of the service - missing prescriptions; medications not being ready on the promised pick up days/times and the complete mish mash of service if I can call it that. Utterly disgusted that Head Office allow this to go on. If they ever do any checks on their branches the dissaray would be so obvious to them so I have to wonder if branches are even monitored for their service at all.

I recently went to collect my prescription in malmesbury at the Heath centre, I must say that place over the years has been excellent staff working hard all the prescriptions ready and happy smily faces. I went in two days ago and there was people in the shop asking for their prescription and to collect there regularly repeats and all the girls were dashing around trying to find it all. A regular said they have lost staff and trying to work with two main people in the dispensary tackling normal prescriptions, repeats to keep on top with and loads of walk ins, it's sad to say those girls wasn't happy I couldn't cope with it and won't be surprised if someone isn't sick soon. It's such a lovely place and right on your door step but as a customer I worry for those women, I work as a manager for a company my place is all about team work I do believe they need help soon before people go else where. Can anyone help them?

Goodness me thought we had problems at our Boots at Eastwood,Nottingham but it seems all over the place. Our store has increased the counter size (so the staff cannot see you ) the other chemist Burrows and Close closed down so Boots have the monopoly trade. What the haven't done is increase the staff, you never see the same chemist twice, the staff we see keep you waiting told to come back in 1 hour,2 hour ,tomorrow??My husband has been told he has never been a customer (12 years) !!! The place is a total shambles, nothing is ever ready, many times they haven't got all the drugs so it's another trip with another wait,!

Leatherhead Boots pharmacy assistant :

Service

Quality

I like Boots chemist and indeed was a Boots girl myself a long time ago. We were well trained in customer service and customer relations. In the past I have enjoyed the same at my Leatherhead Surrey branch. Unfortunately the past year or so there seem to have been many times when prescriptions cant be found ...then looked again by someone else and miraculously found. Drs receptionists have been called and clarified the sending of same, and denied receipt of them by the pharmacists. I wish to complain about one of the pharmacy assistants and I am going to write formally to Boots head office and the manager of my branch in Leatherhead. I find the communication skills of this one lady in the pharmacy to be somewhat lacking. I don't know her name but its the young lady with the spots on her face. She definitely lacks the interest and respect for the customer (me) that I would expect from a Boots employee, and today I felt humiliated by her denial and non acceptance of my explanations regarding a missing prescription that had been sent down from my doctors. I had previously talked to another dispenser a few weeks ago about the same issue and when I described to her who I spoke to, she said that the person didn't even exist and insinuated I was making it up , or mad or something... until the said person heard what was happening and came to the counter. I was getting frustrated and annoyed because of the spotty (sorry don't know her name) womans attitude and goading while she seemed to revelling in my frustration, smiling while I was getting more and more upset !! She was making me feel stupid and enjoying it. You don't know me personally but I would say I am normally of a calm disposition and I feel very uncomfortable that someone could treat me like that. I have never had a cause to complain at any other retail store. It still stings and I am feeling upset about it all , I think her manner was condescending bordering on nasty while being as unhelpful as she could be. Anyway I wont be taking them there any more and will pick them up from my doctor and get them myself from a friendlier chemist . Do you know what? they wont even miss me!! I hope this complaint will be taken seriously? Its all very disappointing.

This branch, despite countless patient complaints regarding the total inefficiency of the service provided is still after a minimal shuffle of one counter and work area ,is STILL in the same inefficient mess . One can stand in a queue to collect a previously requested presciption for 25 minutes to be told it still hasn't been made up and therefor wait 20mins more . On two previous occasions I have been given the WRONG medication and my husband given 12mths supply of one of his instead of 2mths This after said prescriptions had been CHECKED and signed off. Patients attend the surgery as they are unwell and waiting so long is just not right. I do not need platitudes or apologies the patients of Wymondham Medical Centre Post Mill Close need meaningful action to rectify the problems at the woefully disfuctional pharmacy

On 4th Feb 2015 I went to this store at 4,10 p.m.to purchase a number of bottled medical products and went to the pharmacy counter on the upper floor, I was unable to find any baskets to put my purchases in and when I went to pay at the only till open on the pharmacy, the member of staff was unable to sign on to serve me until she was given a number by somebody else and she was replacing the pharmacist who went home at 4.00 p.m. after waiting some time while she found someone, a member of the public went behind the counter to put an armful of products into a basket as she was unable to find a basket on the sales floor. The pharmacist returned followed by the assistant manager who signed on then served me. I went downstairs looking for tissues and found them at floor level at the back of the store, I was however unable toi find a basket. There was nobody availabe to help me as I struggled to reach the tissues as I am registered disabled and have difficulty bending down, I managed to use other goods to try and 'fish' out the tissues then picked up two bottle of coca cola and was now juggling with 4 boxes of tissues, 2 bottle of coke, a bag of goods already paid for upstairs which were all heavy bottles and my handbag. Making my way to the only set of tills on the sales floor I knocked over a display stand accidentally leading into the payment area another lady helped reset the display I then began dropping boxes of tissues and the bottles of coke and a lady in the queue went to find a basket for me. Service at Boots the Chemist has gone badly downhill since I worked for them five years ago!!! disgusting.

Appalled at treatment by member of staff

Service

Today, 8th Jan '15, at approx 5.10pm I visited Colliers Wood branch of Boots at the Tandem Centre retail park. I had several sale items in my basket, with clearly marked "reduced" stickers on them. The female member of staff rang up these items at their original retail price. When I queried this upon paying, this member of staff very sharply said "why didn't you tell me these were sale items?" I was totally taken aback. Should I have had to? I've never had to tell a member of staff to look at the price labels before!! She then attempted to refund the difference, making a complete hash job of it. I was very concerned at one point that she was charging my credit card twice. I asked her to explain her actions. Since I have a burst eardrum on my right side, and she had quite a heavy accent, I had to cock my head to the left to be able to hear her, which I explained - and even found myself apologising for!! To my astonishment she then shouted back; "look at me", "look at me". I am an intelligent, educated person, and yet I was made to feel totally humiliated and belittled in front of my 3 children and other customers. I told her she was not being professional, and she mentioned she would call the manager over who happened to be serving another customer at the next till . For maximum disbelief, my 7 year old daughter overheard a customer telling the male manager to "watch his language". The customer then went on to remark "maybe you'll have learnt some manners by this time next year". I am absolutely appalled by these two staff members and will be writing a strongly worded letter with their names to head office. My children and I were made to feel intimidated, and were forced to endure this terrible lack of professionalism.

Boots Horsham

This morning at 10:52 I bought a packet of Strepsils in the Boots store, Swan Walk, Horsham, West Sussex. I was able to pick them from the shelf and went to the counter specialising in medicinal products, to be served. I stood at the ‘queue point’ and waited for the customer being served to finish. The assistant dealt with the goods, the money and the customer seemed to make ready to leave but the conversation they were having continued for sometime. By this time I had been joined in the queue and had a quick word with the man standing behind me. We both agreed that the purchase was complete and these two were more interested in the talk than anything else. The assistant did not appear to be giving medical advice from what I could hear and this was a purely social conversation. She appeared to look up and across to the now lengthening queue but still carried on talking. Eventually this customer moved away and it was my turn to be served. On reaching the counter I politely said to the assistant that I thought she had given up serving. She replied pardon. I politely repeated my observation. She said, “I was having a conversation with a customer.” My response was, “Exactly and you have a queue of people here, waiting to be served.” By now there were four, maybe five people behind me. The assistant took my money, and offered me a bag, which I declined and said no more. I thanked her and left. This is yet another example of the poor service provided in this store. Staff should not be there to have a social chat as and when it suits but to serve customers as and when they need serving promptly, politely and efficiently. If the store is not busy and there isn’t a queue fair enough but at other times all customers have the equal right to expect and get good customer service. I no longer use the pharmacy in this store because assistants are rude, make inappropriate comments and are apt to have lengthy chats with acquaintances and I have complained about that before. My husband commented at the long queue at the pharmacy. Someone really needs to do some staff training at this store because I don’t see things improving! Do employees realise they work in a business organisation or do they see employment as a hobby? The success of Boots does in part rest with them

Tried to purchase an item from a local store that had seen was in stock on the internet site. When arrived there was nothing to purchase in this particular item. Is the only way to get items from Boots now is to order it to go collect from the store at a price. I ended up purchasing the item from Amazon post/package free. No wonder stores are going to the wall on the high street - so sad.
