A NEW concept in dining out takes its inspiration from its beautiful woodland location. Forever Green is a stylish restaurant that sits in the heart of 70 acres of woodland. Forever Green started life as an eating place for people working at Ransom Wood, just off the A617 between Rainworth and Mansfield. Its popularity grew, and soon Forever Green had become an eating destination for people from outside the park. The time had come to remodel Forever Green. It reopened last month, enlarged and refurbished, and ready to cater for everything from light lunches to stylish wedding receptions.NatureThe restaurant is a light and modern purpose-built space, surrounded by trees, giving diners lovely views. It seats 60 people downstairs with a spacious conference room upstairs that caters for up to 100. The emphasis throughout is on working with nature, from the woodland surroundings to the interior décor which includes lots of natural wood and specially-commissioned butterfly-patterned wall coverings, and of course the food, which is fresh and locally sourced. The menu offers a great selection of dishes at reasonable prices, from a variedbreakfast choice, light bites and sandwiches to main meals, a salad bar and desserts. There is also a full hot and cold take-out menu. Forever Green opens from 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, but from mid September will extend its opening hours to include evenings and weekends. It is already an ideal place for a wedding reception, and an application has been made for it to be licensed for marriages. The head chef and general manager is Paul Jones, who brings his wealth of experience from, Reeds, a successful Newark restaurant. He is excited about the future of Forever Green, which he sees as a whole new concept in dining out. He loves the location in particular. "It's just great coming to work every day," he said. As well as being a great place for dining out and hosting corporate events, Forever Green is also the venue for ‘Forever Green Live' a vibrant monthly event encompassing music, dance, poetry and the visual arts.
Forever Green is unique thanks to its location - the restaurant has huge windows looking out into the woods - it has a very relaxed atmosphere and a very fresh innovative menu.

I first stumbled across Forever Green at its live monthly event, The Art Cafe, and then came back and had a really great lunch. Worth a try.

If you are looking for a great place to start your day, check out Forever Green in Ransomwood. I often go there for a healthy breakfast and a coffee before work - you may not even realise its there as its nestled in the trees, but give it a try, you wont be disappointed.

I have just found this new place near Mansfield which is like no where around. Forever Green is such a relaxing place to go to - its surrounded by lovely trees and I love sitting next to the big windows and watching the wildlife, a cup of cafe late in one hand, the newspaper in the other. When it comes to leaving, I always look forward to my next visit.

Forever Green has to be seen to be appreciated, I use it regularly to hold conferences for my business. The surroundings are ideal, giving us the escape from our office to do get some fantastic work achieved. The friendliness of the catering team and the food they provide is better than most places we hold meetings and I would definately reccomend the place.

What a fantastic place, beautiful location just 5 minutes out of Mansfield town centre. A great secret that I am somewhat reluctant to share. You can get a fantastic breakfast or lunch. My daughter and I like to go as the staff are very friendly and professional, and the food is excellent quality and value. It puts supermarket café's to shame, so if you fancy something special give it a try. Simon & Amy.

Then go to the Forever Green Restaurant It is sort of split in two with it being in the day a restaurant with the facility of a meeting room and then every first Tuesday of every month it turns into The Art Cafe with live acts and live music. All in all a great versitile restaurant and venue if your looking for a bite to eat at lunch or a night out or even if you are planning a meeting and need a room, all this with the added advantage of being set in the woodland of Ransom Wood Business Park
