Restaurant - Indian in Kettering
1-1a George Street
Just back from a nice Sunday night out at the Spoons and then on to this gem of an Indian restaurant.Thing about the Red Rose is that it's consistently good. You know what you want, you know what you like - and you know the kids working here are going to deliver, and beyond, 10 out of 10 visits.I had the mushroom biriani tonight, with a sag paneer on the side and a keema nan (I don't like to typecast myself as a bona fide herbivore. Plus if we stopped eating animals we would eventually be dictated by an ovine government - and that would be simply scary). They've started making their own paneer on site and I have to say, it scored in the top corner. Absolutely divine. You finish off with proper hot towels and a magic After Eight mint. It's all polished stuff - and just refurbed too, which means the fountain in the corner that made you want to go for a wee the moment you stepped through the door, has met a welcome demise.Mucho recommended. Best in town.

When I check my bank account I don't worry about the mortgage coming out, or the ever-increasing gas and electricity bills - I always look out for Dimpale Ltd, since this is the name the Red Rose goes under when it charges my Maestro card.I am a prolific diner at the Red Rose. I love everything about it. I love the fact that I can borrow a Bollywood DVD when I fancy something a bit different, that I can be guaranteed one of the finest biryanis I've ever tasted. The shobzi sultan is superb, and there's a new menu on the offing which promises to deliver even more choices. To say I'm happy with this place is an understatement. Viva Red Rose!
