The York Dungeon is a journey into more than 2000 years of York's horrible history all in just under an hour, bringing together horrible characters, immersive sets and thrilling special-effects in a unique and exciting walkthrough experience that you see, hear, feel and smell.

Visited the York Dungeon a few weeks ago and had a great time. There is a lot of audience participation (whether you want it or not) so if you're shy, try to stay out of the way! It's very dark in there and there are some sudden movements which might not be suitable for some people but they do ask about health issues before you enter. My only criticism was the state of the toilets, they are perhaps the most authentic part of the whole dungeon, and look and smell as though they were last cleaned in the Viking times! People were actually asking if they were themed like that, apparently the dungeon isn't responsible for them so doesn't really take any responsibility. Other than that, a great family attraction.
