They may have got rid of the best vinyl juke box in York but this pub still retains its charm. Slightly out on a limb perched on the corner of Bishopgate St and Bishopthorpe Rd it provides a welcome oasis from several unremarkable pubs nearby and is neatly divided into 3 sections with a single bar serving all of them. Excellent draught beers with probably the best served Taylor's Landlord in the City and a lived in feel combine to make it an excellent "local". A short walk to The Golden Ball and The Ackhorne make a good mini crawl any summer evening.
