Every cat owner knows that each cat is different. There are some that buck the trends and behave more like a dog than a cat - mine loves jumping in a bath-full of water, playing fetch so must have been a dog in a former life!! I didn't even make it to booking my cat in this place. I love my cat, so researched what I thought looked to be the best accommodation in York. The website looked the best, and the facilities sounded great. However, what I did not expect was to end a 2 minute phone call in tears. The woman running the place is obviously experienced, and I would always welcome advice from such a person, but to be sent on a guilt trip about the way I keep my cat is wholly unacceptable. My cat is happy, INCREDIBLY so. She chirps away (and barks, yes, more of that dog-like behaviour) most of the day, is always stimulated and has NEVER shown a desire to go outside. It was inferred that I was making my cat miserable by "not letting her out". I live on a busy road, the noises of the cars have been enough to deter her from going outside. If she's happy inside, why would i force her to do something she clearly doesn't want?? This woman left me in tears, obviously full of self-gratification that she had imparted her narrow-minded, ill-informed views. The fact of the matter is, I know my cat. I want the best for her, and I would NEVER entrust the care of my cat to a woman who is not willing to consider each cat's individual needs.
