Excellent cafe in GARGRAVE, much loved by cyclists
The Dalesman in GARGRAVE (not Skipton) is very well known by cyclists and walkers who often detour for miles to go there. It offers three distinctly different eating areas ... a traditional stone-floored sideroom; a traditional cafe; a small area decorated in the style of a canal boat. The menus offer a good range of foods from snacks right up to full-sized and very filling meals. I would personally recommend the egg and chips as they're the best I've ever tasted in Yorkshire - but prices have recently taken quite a steep hike which, although a shame, is perhaps not surprising in these modern times. Nevertheless, The Dalesman is still a great little cafe and is well worth a visit.
