About me

am a transport lawyer with many years experience representing haulage operators, professional drivers and motorists and hold the CPC qualification for haulage at the national and international level.

I initially read Geography at Durham, took an MBA, specialising in marketing and small business management and ran my own business. I then returned to Leeds University to study law, taking a Masters degree and trained as a solicitor, practising in the field of road transport law, regularly appearing before the Traffic Commissioner at public inquiries and the Magistrates' courts. My experience also covers acting for clients charged with the most serious types of offences such as gross negligence manslaughter and conspiracy to falsify tachograph records.

I have written widely for the trade press, having been the author of the legal advice column for “Truck & Driver" and have written articles for “Commercial Motor", in addition to writing for industry specific journals.

An appearance before the Traffic Commissioner or the Court is a daunting prospect and I will try to make the experience as stress free as possible by clearly explaining to you the relevant law and procedure. My aim is to provide a high quality dedicated professional service for my clients at reasonable cost. This can only be done by keeping down unnecessary overheads, having knowledge of the industry and a thorough understanding of the relevant law, including keeping abreast of proposals coming from Brussels.
