Restaurant - Italian in Scarborough
North Wharf
Sandside
Scarborough
North Yorkshire
YO11 1PQ
Situated in a prime position right on the harbourside, the major selling point of this restaurant is its location, with views out over the water and lighthouse. This restaurant offers seating inside and outside, on the ground floor and an upper level (although the upstairs isnt always open, so be prepared for disappointment) The decor is basic and functional. It also gets very busy - especially in the summer season - and when this is the case theres very little room to manouveur as they pack the customers in tight.Italian food - pizza, pasta and salad - is functional and unspectacular, but actually quite nice. Its also pretty expensive for what it is - about £7 for a pizza and £8 for a pasta dish. Desserts are ludicrously priced - £5 for a tiny slice of chocolate cake for example, but as a treat its ok for a once in a while experience.Service varied from superlative to downright rotten, depending on how busy it is and interested your (usually Polish) waitress of the day is, and management is sloppy, but its worth a visit for the views, particularly early evening time in the summer.
