An unexpected pleasure

Service

Quality

Value

This little cafe/tearoom is quite anonymous from the street (as least it seemed so to me as it was early and I was half asleep) however the atmosphere inside is truly relaxing and makes a pleasant stop when shopping in Malton or if you're looking for a stop off point while passing through North or South. If you can grab a seat upstairs, the strains of a little subdued classical music and the rustic/antique furniture makes a real relaxing venue. The range of food on offer is good, with everything from cheese on toast (which comes on two good thick slices of wholegrain bread with a splash of worcesterchire sauce) to more substantial plates of proper lunchtime fayre. (Try the cinnamon toast- it's a dream) The range of tea and coffee is also tremendous, and you can try a variety pf premium coffee's in a generous cafetiere, or a pot of tea with real tea leaves - not bags! all in all a great place to eat and good value too
