The Forge Guest House is a 4 star silver award guest house situated 40 yards from Crescent Gardens in a quiet location, with limited on street parking. It is located close to all amenities including the Bus and Railway Station, the Beach and Town being only a few minutes walk away.

Filey

Filey is a traditional small seaside resort, which remains unspoilt, and has miles of fine sandy beaches that are ideal for safe bathing.

Activities in Filey include Bowls, Tennis, Horse Riding, Sailing, Surfing and Fishing as well as an 18 hole Golf Course, all of these activities are situated close or not far from The Forge Guest House.

Many people also come to Filey to watch the birds either at the R.S.P.B reserve at Bempton Cliffs or at Filey Brigg as well as at the Dams Nature Reserve. Filey is also situated at the end of two well known long distance footpaths, The Cleveland way and The Wolds way.

Filey is a convenient place to stay to visit Scarborough, Bridlington, and you are on the doorstep of Heartbeat county with Gothland, Whitby, and the stunning scenery of the North Yorkshire Moors being only a short drive away, as well as the North Yorkshire steam railway. Many fine stately homes are situated including Castle Howard, Sledmere House, Burton Agnes Hall, as well as the ruins of Rievaulx Abbey. Only 40 minutes away is Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo, which will keep the whole family amused all day. Eden Camp war museum is also near by which is the only modern history theme museum of its type in the world and is constructed in the huts of an original prisoner of war camp.

We are less than an hours drive away from the historic city of York and the magnificent Minster and all the attractions of York including the national Railway Museum, York Castle Museum and The Jorvik Viking Centre as well as many other attractions too numerous to mention.

We recommend our full English breakfast which is served daily. We pride ourselves on using local produce wherever possible. A choice of tomato or pork and herb sausages made at The Forge served with our own bacon, mushrooms, subtlety flavoured fresh vine tomatoes, baked beans, our very popular glaves silver award prize winning black pudding, all topped with free range eggs cooked to your choice.
