Although Great Yarmouth is considered tacky and a bit 'rough' nowadays, it was a fantastic and pleasant surprise when we turned up for a meeting on the seafront and decided to grab something to eat in the Monte Carlo. The restaurant is comfortably decorated with amazing seafront views. The menue is tradition seafront fayre with roasts, fish dishes and steaks. I decided to have a home-made steak pie and chips, my friend an ""EXTRA LARGE"" cod and chips. Well, the fish turned up and was at least 13inches long with an ample helping of chips (hand-cut). My steak pie truly was a 'home-made' one with a beautiful crust and serious amount of prime rump steak! On the whole the food is gorgeous and the couple that run it are lovely. Forget your pretientious city bistros, give the Monte Carlo a try and you'll never look back!
