Do not try ordering a take away.

Don't try ordering a takeaway from this restaurant, unless you live next door! I drive past this restaurant almost everyday on my way home from work and I know that it is less than 2 miles from my home. After having had a take away menu put through my letter box from the restaurant recently, I decided I would try ordering from them one wednesday evening. I inspected their take away menu which claims: FREE HOME DELIVERY WITHIN A 3 MILE RADIUS. Good start. OPENING HOURS 6PM TO 2AM 7 DAYS A WEEK. Fine, it was 10.30pm. There was no mention of any minimum order amount, but to make it worth it I selected enough food up to the value of £12, based on the fact that most curry houses have a minimum £10 order limit. However, on ringing this restaurant I could not have been met with a more unfriendly response. They took my order reluctantly and then when adding it up started to moan at me saying it was not enough for a delivery. I pointed out it was £12 and that their menu does not state a minimum order amount. He then took my address and started to insist that I was well over the 3 mile radius!! I then questioned him as to why they had put a take away menu through my letter box! After explaining to him that he was only 2 miles away (I even checked using AA route planner!) he still carried on making excuses. I got fed up and told him I would order from elsewhere, which I did very successfully. SHOCKING TREATMENT, ESPECIALLY AS THEY ARE SUPPOSEDLY UNDER NEW MAGANAGEMENT.

This has got to be oneof Britians finest Indian restaurants. Owner/chef Ahma trained at the Savoy, and is an expert in many types of cuisine. Needless to say , the originality of the menu, and the deftness and lightness of the cooking is exeplary. Ahma is a true food lover, and will happily talk about any type of cooking. He also opens til very late.
