A great little place off the beaten track at the outskirts of Rainford village. This place is becoming increasingly well known and its popularity is growing accordingly! It has undergone a number of physical changes over the years more recently with a conservatory built onto the rear, making the pub much larger and airier. This pub has readily accessible car parking at the side.An extremely diverse menu and specials board, with some lovely choices including "game" at very reasonable prices. The only sad thing is the starter and main courses are so good and the prtions are very generous means I have not yet had sufficient appetite to be able to try their desserts (sob)Nice ambience and welcoming place - booking a table is a definite must as the place gets full very quickly. Its popularity can result in long delays in getting served however the surroundings are very pleasant and the wait is no real hardship unless you are very hungry! At times you can feel a little rushed as you are conscious of others waiting for a table and this can be a little off putting although it has to be said that the staff do not rush you through the courses.
