I have been here a few times now. On my last visit we found hair in our food and were given dirty glasses. Needless to say I won't be back, the management had an awful attitude stating it was 'only hair'. A far better indian is the one next to the old Odeon.

I visited Spice Lounge in May 2008 as part of a big group of 10. I have to say it was one of the best Indian meals I've had in a restaurant for a long time (I ordered a Chicken Jalfrezi I think). The service was also brilliant - they were very friendly and always around when we needed to ask for anything. It may be the case that things have improved since the time of Louise M's visit, or perhaps we were just lucky, but either way I would go there again! My only negative comment is that the price was indeed a little steep. But ok if you go there every now and then.

Exceptionally good

I visited the Spice Lounge in May 2008. I have to say it was one of the best Indian meals I've had in a restaurant. The chicken disk I ordered (I think it was Chicken Jalfrezi) was nicely spiced, and the rice was well cooked. Can't say anything was greasy. The service was excellent too - they were friendly, professional, everything. There's nothing I can fault them on. The only minor point I can mention is that the food was a little on the expensive side. So perhaps the food and service has improved much since the time Louise M. visited. Or perhaps we visited on a good day. All I can say is that if I'm around the area again in the near future I will definitely visit again!

The best indian meal ever

I hate to so blatantly disagree with Louise, and in doing so annoyingly confuse you, but I disagree entirely. I went for my birthday, Dec, 2006, and was impressed all round'. The actual interior is gorgeous, it's not too big and never overly crowded. The meal itself was fantastic, I like mild curries and the chef made the curry sauce to my exact liking. All portions were very generous and all in all the meal was very reasonable priced for an upmarket indian restaurant. Just to help you out if you're deciding whether to go - Louise's opinion is based on two people. I had 7 with me and everyone there agreed it was a lovely meal.

The Worst Indian Meal Ever

Service

Quality

We visited the Spice Lounge on Liverpools Albert Dock last night, which from the exterior appearance is very smart. I honestly have to say it was the worst indian meal I have ever had!!!!! At a cost of £60 including only one starter, one poppadums and a bottle of house wine, and no additional side dishes, only two curries, one rice and one paratha. This was certainly not cheap. The poppadums were greasy and overcooked, the starter was so over cooked it was almost inedible, and Chicken Kurma was all I can say is revolting. After putting our views forward we asked to see the manager, but he refused to appear. Any business needs to listen to its customers to survive, and as a new business I cannot see this one surviving unless they do exactly that. I would certainly not recommed an evening at the Spice Lounge at Liverpool Albert Dock.
