A great place to meet for a chat and good food and atmosphere, and a place I must get back to soon in its new premises, recommend it. Steve

This place is great for students, and was a regular place to grab lunch dinner or even breakfast during my student days. Friendly place, with good service. Would recommend: Breakfast, ever so cheap and tea/coffee is included. The full kebab, ever so yummy. Baked potatoes, sandwiches and the tapas are all good too (my fave being the babganoush (sp?)). Warning there can be a queue at lunch time. So go, enjoy and save money. :D

Really great - I go to both branches and they are excellent value and lovely food. Recommended breakfasts - get there early!

We love Kimos. Fabulous decor. Cheap prices. Good middle eastern food.

This place has a menu as cheap as a cafe, but is actually really nice and pleasant with more of an evening restaurant type atmosphere. I think it is mediteranean/middle eastern type food, with a nice dark but colourful interior, cushions and candles every where, with a choice of low cushioned bench type seats or wooden tables and chairs. You go and order from the till and they'll bring your food and drink to the table. The menu includes kebabs, currys, pizzas, burgers, kievs, humous and dips etc. Although it is probably ideal for students with its cheap menu, this place attracts a range of people looking for a nice tasty menu with a nice atmosphere. Ideal for a relaxing catch up with friends.

Kimos on Mount Pleasant moved to new premises a couple of years ago, but still remains an institution. Very popular with students during term time, but not too busy on a Saturday lunchtime when everything else in town is packed. The restaurant is large, with a sizeable capacity, but manages to maintain a friendly atmosphere with some original touches. Everything is very informal, you order at the bar and pay upfront (beware - doesn't take credit nor debit cards). The menu ranges from breakfasts to Panini to pizzas to Middle Eastern and Mediterranean main courses, and should really offer something for everybody. We went recently with our 2 children who shared a pizza, while the adults had a full English and a Mediterranean breakfast (highly recommended - falafel, tomato and feta salad, pita bread and a fried egg). All this including drinks came to under £14.Go and try it out!

Kimos, which serves Middle Eastern food from a couple of sites in the city, moved to new premises not so long ago just along the road on Mount Pleasant. They have a café on Myrtle Street by the University of Liverpool and Liverpool Community College arts centre as well as the more posh venue on Mount Pleasant.I used to like the slightly down-at-heel feel of the old restaurant, but the great decor in the new place has grown on me and as the prices are still really good I'm happy! (And the toilets are much nicer than they used to be!)You can guarantee that if there are any big events happening in the city centre Kimos will be busy, so arrive early if you have something to go on to. On really busy occasions the downstairs room is also open for seating. There is a real mix in the clientele, as it is middle eastern they don't serve pork so you get families looking for halal meals, students, workers in for business lunches and just about anyone who appreciates tasty food at good prices. My favourites are the breakfasts and the tabbouleh, but this is a great place to find something a bit more out of the ordinary and more filling, such as Moroccan Harira or a dish made with okra.
