Spray Foam Insulation
England, UK, Scotland, Wales, Isle of Man
Spray On Foam Insulation comes in many forms and for many applications.
Open Cell – Open Cell Spray On Foam is normally used for roofs, Lofts, Between Floors and Timber frame and walls. As well as been a wonderful insulator it will aid in the achievement of airtighness.
Closed Cell – Closed Cell Spray On Foam is normally used for Industrial and Agricultural applications. It comes in various forms 1lb,1.5lb and 2lb densities. It will eliminate condensation from forming on Galvanize Roofs, Sheds, Workshops, Garages etc making them easier to heat in Winter months and Cooler in Summer months. Also ideal for old Slate Roofs or Tiled Roofs where no felt is present. Will save £1000s on re roofing as it will bind old slates and tiles together to prevent them from slipping off the roof while also holding in valuable heat within the home.

Damp
As cavity wall insulation fails, and as the moisture content within the wall rises, plaster may begin to blister and crumble. There may be a variety of situations that lead to this, including CWI that has been damaged by flooding Water that may have breached the cavity wall Mould Mould growth emerges as a direct result of damp and, if left unchecked can lead to both serious structural issues, as well as health and safety concerns to occupants' health .
Condensation
Condensation may become apparent when black mould spots begin to form on top of wallpaper and on walls (this is caused by there being warm air within the house which meets with cold wall areas). This most commonly occurs because of two situations.Older CWI may have slipped down the cavity overtime, revealing cold spots and leading to condensation.
In other cases CWI has simply been installed poorly, where incorrect drill patterns or blowing pressures have left spots uncovered, leading to condensation within those areas. We offer Loft Insulation in both Rolled and Blown form. We insulate all exposed pipework, Insulate the water tank, install an Insulated Walkway from the hatch to the water tanks. We draught seal the hatch.
What is Roof Insulation?
Roof insulation is the provision of insulation in the roof space in order to prevent heat loss through the ceilings of the living spaces below.
The method and type of insulation you use in the attic depends on whether the attic is to be used as a living space or not.
If the attic is an unused space, i.e. a ‘cold roof', the insulation is applied at the ceiling level. The simplest way of doing this, and if the thickness of the insulation layer is not of any concern, is to roll out fibrous insulation (i.e. glass fibre, rockwool, sheep's wool, etc.) between the joists with a second layer at right angles. You should be looking to at least achieve the Building Regulations standard(0.16 W/m2K) which requires 250 - 300 mm (10-12″) of insulation. Other choices for materials with a similar level of insulation include blown fibrous insulation and cellulose fibre insulation, both of which are blown into place through a pipe. Make sure that you still have access to any tanks, pipework etc. by installing a walkway from the entrance to the attic to the water tank, or any other appliances that you may require access to, before laying insulation
If the attic is to be used as a living space, then the insulation goes on the slope of the roof, i.e. between and on top of the rafters. In this case, the space you have is limited by the depth of the rafters so you will need to use a material with a low thermal conductivity to achieve a U-value of 0.16 W/m2K, as per the Building Regulations. If there is an older, non-breathable felt in place, then a gap of 50mm should be left between the insulation and the felt to allow for ventilation between the insulation and felt. The traditional types of insulation used are semi-rigid and rigid roof board insulation. If there is some space outside of the living space within the roof, then this should be adequately insulated at ceiling level
If you have an existing flat roof, insulation can be applied externally on top of the existing roof and covering with a waterproof roof covering. A flat roof may also be insulated internally with an insulated dry lining board. A vapour barrier should also be applied underneath this new layer of insulation. On a new flat roof with concrete slab, insulation boards or sheets are laid under the roof finish, on top of the concrete

Damp Treatment

Damp Treatment
Damp.
Damp can show in various different forms in your Home. Rising Damp, Penetrating Damp and Condensation. There are various different ways of treating each and different costs which can vary dramatically so it is vital to identify which form you have before a decision can be made on how best to treat your Damp Problem. Living in a property with mould can be bad for your health, so it's important to get it sorted as soon as possible. The worse the situation gets, the more it is going to cost to remove and repair any damage.
Types of damp
Rising Damp-Skirting boards and walls can become stained and crumbly
Condensation -Condensation is the most common kind of damp. It is caused by moist air condensing on walls, particularly in rooms with a lot of air moisture, such as kitchens and bathrooms. It's mainly, but not always, a winter problem, as at this time of year walls are much colder than the air inside. Condensation can be exacerbated by poor ventilation and heating that comes on and off, as this allows warm, damp air to condense. The removal of existing chimneys and energy-saving measures, such as fitting air-tight double glazing, can reduce ventilation. This problem can be particularly apparent in old homes that were built to ‘breathe' and allow dampness to evaporate out of the home, while modern homes are built to keep water out in the first place. There are systems available though to help improve ventilation Symptoms of condensation You may notice water droplets on windows or walls, see dark mould appearing, particularly on glass or around windows, and/or notice an unpleasant smell. If left untreated, condensation can damage paint and plaster and cause window frames to decay.
Rising damp -Rising damp is caused by ground water moving up through a wall or floor. Most walls and floors allow some water in, but it's usually stopped from causing damage by a barrier called a damp-proof course or damp-proof membrane. A damp-proof course is a horizontal strip, usually made from plastic or bitumen felt, built into the wall at the height of at least 15cm above ground level. Symptoms of rising damp If you have rising damp, you may notice damaged skirting boards or plaster, as well as peeling paint and wallpaper, often with wet patches. Rising damp may dissolve soluble salts from the ground and building materials, which can then crystallise, forming a white powder-like substance. This, along with the water, can also leave a tide mark along the wall. If the problem is coming up from the floor, you may notice floor coverings lifting, or damp patches.
Penetrating damp -Penetrating damp is caused by water leaking through walls. This type of damp may expand across your walls or ceiling, but this will be horizontal movement rather than by travelling up walls (as is the case with rising damp). Penetrating damp is usually caused by structural problems in a building, such as faulty guttering or roofing, or cracks in the walls, which mean walls or roofs are regularly soaked with water. It can also be caused by internal leaks, such as pipes under the sink or bath. Symptoms of penetrating damp Penetrating damp often shows up through damp patches on walls or ceilings, which may darken when it rains. You're more likely to get penetrating damp if you live in an older building with solid walls, as cavity walls provide some protection.
