Restaurant - Pub Food in Leicester

A modern, trendy pub with a very good selection of drinks. This is a more up market pub where the prices are subtantially higher - for me this pub is a treat and not a place for a session. The people who drink here are nice, well behaved etc. but funnily enough I too had the same experience as a fellow reviewer, chubbina. Middle aged women drinking champagne and being a little on the loud side. The beer garden is barricaded by four walls but on a nice day the sun does enter the garden (no grass). They have a good selection of bar snacks (to purchase) such as different nuts, olives etc, don't know if they do food. This is a very well kept, tidy and clean pub with a relaxed atmoshpere.

The Rutland & Derby is one of the few bars I visit in town these days. I have liked it for a while as it was the first non-smoking pub in Leicester. Following it's refurb it now appeals to young professionals - that's not how I would describe myself (!) but it's a great chilled out place to have a drink or two. The decor is lovely and there is also a nice although small beer garden. The only downside is that the drinks are on the pricey side and the last time I went there was a group of people who had gone there to show off and spend a fortune on several bottles of champagne. I'm just jealous!!!
