Very good but expensive!!
Last visited Kellie Hughes (Salon 1) in Nov 09. Stylists are very welcoming, friendly and chatty and ensure they keep to the style you've asked for. Their advice and recommendations about haircare is of course, excellent and unless you end up lured into buying the products there and then; is free! Only a couple of gripes with Kellie Hughes; the first being that the stylist doing my daughter's hair tried her best to straighten it without the use of GHD's. Bearing in mind my daughter's hair is very long and full of naturally, spiral curls. There is no way her hair could EVER be straightened with just a dryer and despite explaining this, she still kept on trying. Half an hour later, she admitted defeat and just got the GHD's out. Why she didn't do this to begin with I don't know because the senior stylist / deputy manager Mel assured me they're perfectly safe to use with a heat protector when I bought them from the salon 10 minutes earlier. Also, they didn't use the GHD's on my hair either although to be fair, mine doesn't really need them. It just seemed strange that this was the only hairdressers I've ever been in that didn't seem at all keen on using their own on customers. The second gripe is the cost. £26.00 for a wash, cut and blow-dry (both mine and my 10 year old daughter's) is a bit steep if you ask me!! Our hair did look nice once done, but wasn't anything particularly fantastic to warrant it costing so much.
