Driving Tips for Younger Drivers

Young drivers are statistically, most likely to be involved in accident. car-related deaths are No 1 cause of death among persons between the ages of 16 and 25.. The reason for this is because young drivers tend to be inexperienced and not very cautious, as they are still learning how to drive and are not quite used to multitasking. The 1st step in avoiding accidents is to get more focused and comfortable with driving.. The biggest problem young drivers have is that they panic, and in their panic state they make stupid mistakes, such as jamming on gas pedal instead of the brake or failing to turn properly. Additionally many teens have fallen victim to the "scare tactic" and are genuinely frieghtened of driveing, leading them to be excessively fearful of making kistakes. a good instructor will be able toget them used to driving and feel comfortable during their driving lessons and this will lead to better progress and safer driving habbits.Secondly young drivers need to learn not to drive when impaired.. Most drivers of any age are smart enough not to drive when they are drunck, and most teenage drivers are not legally able to purchase alcohol anyway. But driving when one is exhausted or taking sleep inducing medication can be every bit as bad as having few drinks. Teenager often do not realise how impaired they are after staying up all night to study for an examination or party with their friends. Also they are less familiar with how medication can influence their reaction and ability times to up coming cars. Therefore young drivers who feel tied or disoriented or are being knocked around by new medication should get someone else to drive or at least take some nap or drink some coffee to get themselves awake and alert. The third and most important tip for young drivers is to avoid distractions while they are driving. Distracted driving is the No.1 cause of accidents and death among younger drivers today, because it is so widespread and easy to be distracted. Remember using phine while driving is illegal. Teenager are so used to talking on their phone and texting all day along that they forget how much attention they need to pay to the road and all it takes is one second of distraction to have a serious accident. Parents therefore should have strict "no mobile phone while driving " policy and reinforce this by taking away or switching phones off before driving.Young drivers should also get used to avoiding more adult distractions. eating in the car is not only disgusting and likely to get crumbles all over the place, it will make it harder to drive, since it necessitates that one take their hand off the wheel and also that they focus on the food instead of the road. Applying makeup or doing other heigiene and appearance related actions is not only impractical in a car, it is also difficult. At the very least they should be done when car is stationary in a parking lot, and not on the road or at a stop lights. The more teenager get used to paying attention to the road, the better they will be.
