This review is going to be as precise and honest as possible.I know this review may banter on abit, and some readers may think "what do you expect for £3.25" but i'll tell you what I expect, I expect the same quality as old mother redcap and the other pub grub establishments were carvery is 5* and only £3.45 !My son, daughter, and myself went to Fleetwood for the day and decided to get a carvery at Old Mother Redcap on the way home, but there was no meat left so the staff advised us to go to Gamecock (the nearest carvery under the same management) but we were very hungry by this point so my son decided to take us to the Britannia inn instead has they have recently started doing carvery everyday. On arrival we found a seat and had a look at the menu and special board to see what was on offer but we decided to opt for the carvery. We went up to the carvery stand and nobody was there to serve, we waited patiently for 10 minutes to the point were my son was considering helping himself because we began to assume it was self service due to the laxy dazy approach. The food itself meat wise would not be fit for a dog, on the exception of the turkey but that was a frozen crown so even the most novist of chef could not go wrong. The pork if you can call it that was shredded strings of meat disgusting ! and the beef, well, least said the better !The man serving just ploncked a big thick piece of fat on our plates, we were so shocked we began to laugh in disbelief and to our horror the chef laughed with us !!! (it was like a comedy show, it was worth paying the £3.25 for the entertainment, the staff just did not have a clue what they were doing). The veg was edible but not fresh like suggested on the boards it was more like frozen. Yorkshire puddings were burnt and cold and the roast spuds were also cold and more like boiled spuds, another chef with a dodgy CV I say ;-). We chanced at a sweet and sadly this was no better :-(To be fair the atmosphere is lovely and you get a very warm welcome and the waitress was very helpful, the poor girl asked us whether everything was ok and we just did'nt reply. Would probably be good for a drink at weekend or through the week for locals.

What happened to the Britannia???

Please note I have only given this pub 1 star because I HAD to give it a rating!I have just returned home from McDonalds after a revolting experience at the Britannia Inn (now under new management). We have been going to the Britannia for years and we have always enjoyed our times there in whatever capacity we have been ie quiz nights, tapas nights, a la carte meals and so on. Anyway it has been a pleasant Sunday so we decided to have tea out at one of our favourite places where we know kids are always welcome. We decided to avoid the carvery as these tend to be overrated in our opinion and chose 5 meals from the normal menu.My other half chose the house curry, I chose 'Salmon in a creamy prawn sauce', eldest daughter chose a quarter pounder burger with cheese and chips, younger daughter chose the pizza kids meal and my son chose the kids egg and chips meal.First the curry meal and pizza kids meal arrived and all looked good. Next came to salmon in what appeared to be tomato puree and dotted with prawns - not my definition of a creamy sauce. However I decided to run with it and had a taste - cold! In fact when I cut the fish open in the middle it was raw -still frozen in places. Of course I sent it back and asked for a different meal which I had eaten there before and enjoyed. Next my daugter picked up her pizza and despite looking good flat it folded completely in the middle...on inspection it appeared that it had merely been heated in the microwave and wasn't even cooked first. Meanwhile older daughter had been eating her burger and as she ate the burger became pinker and pinker and pinker until it actually began dripping blood. At this point I took both meals and informed the management that I would not be paying for the 3 inedible meals we had received. Only after all of this did my sons egg and chips arrive. To add insult to injury when we were leaving there was no apology from the managers and we were expected to pay for the two meals that were eaten. In a very short time the new owners have completely ruined what was a great place to eat and we, as a family, would not set foot in it again! So that explains why we have just come home from McDonalds!

A Nice little pub

A nice little pub off the main road, not accessible without a car unless your one of the 6 people that live up the road from it! Food is good, tastes good and is delivered quickly and the carvery on a Sunday is also good but I think it lacks choice although the main things are there it would be nice to see little extras like parsnips and swede. All of the staff are nice and friendly and the pub itself is comfortable for a relaxing drink after work. Overall a nice little place for a quick drink or a bite to eat!
