Testimonials

Aggi and Ella provided an excellent, professional service for creating my ideal wedding dress. I went in with some of my own sketches, which were enhanced by ideas they suggested. It was wonderful to wear the beautifully made dress on our special day. Ella has since altered my wedding dress to create a lovely ball gown. When I wore it to a New Year's Eve ball, it made me feel like the belle of the ball! Thank you Aggi and Ella. Mrs. Faye Kavvadias-Large Even though I am embarrassed to admit it, I’ve had certain expectations of how I would look on my wedding. These were only compounded when I met my fiancé after wedding dress browsing—I started to imagine the look on his face as I walked down the aisle. I wanted to knock his socks off. I wanted him to be speechless. I wanted to look totally different than how he sees me all the time. Not, like, bleached-blonde and biker tattoos level of different, but stunningly lovely, instead of work-smart and or Mummy cute. My dress would be soft and romantic, vintage-style (I'm not so carried away that I for one moment entertained the notion that my giant boobs would fit into an actual vintage dress). I’d have a bird-cage veil and feathers in my hair and I wanted to look graceful and delicate and pretty, a Hollywood goddess floating in to marry my one true love. Okay, okay, you can stop laughing. I know, it’s all a little Disney-inspired and frankly nauseating. But I really did want that feeling of stunning my fiancé, not to mention the crowd of gathered friends and family. “Faye looks so . . . lovely,” they’d whisper to each other. “I never knew she could be so beautiful.” But there was a problem, firstly my gigantic boobs (again!) and my very Mediterranean-hour glass-post baby figure. The typical boob-tube A-line wedding dresses were not only not suitable (or flattering) for my figure but they weren't really me. After scouring the internet for what seemed like a lifetime, I was stuck. I new the kind of dress I wanted, but I couldn't find it! Then a friend suggested working with a dress maker and having my design made and at first this seemed the most straightforward option. But I was daunted - I couldn't try before I brought it after all, and what if I didn't like it? After more scouring on the internet, I took the brave decision to take the plunge and bring the design for 'the' dress to life. Next stop was a visit to the ladies at Boutique and instantly I felt like I made the right decision - they liked my ideas and assured me that everything would be ok! I was further comforted when Aggi's Mum pricked her finger when cutting the pattern and declared "this will be a good dress" (apparently its a Polish good omen!!) From start to finish, the ladies at Boutique, were wonderful, cutting and making me the most beautiful dress. They were helpful and humoured me at every step, even finishing the dress earlier than expected because they both loved it so much. They did such a brilliant job and even came to the rescue when the bird cage veil I'd ordered from elsewhere didn't match the dress (a crisis of epic proportion when you are in the middle of wedmin and trying to raise a 6 month old!) Most girls want a Knight in shining armour, I got my Knight (Dan) and two very special ladies armed with pins, needles, laughter and a very special ability to help realise you realise your dreams.
