Highly Disappointed

Went here the other night with six of my friends and left with a very biter taste in my mouth. All through the day, I had argued this restaurant's case against my flatmates who wanted to go to a chain restaurant such as Nando's or Zizzi. I won in the end, and we headed down at 7.30. It was quite busy, but since we had booked a table, we were quickly shown to our table.I ordered the 'Rigatoni Amatriciana' and my friends ordered a mix of dishes from pizza to pasta from the sometimes over-expensive menu. After a short wait, they served the two pizzas which had been ordered. Then, everyone with a pasta dish, including myself, had to wait about five minutes until their meal showed up. This was my first indication that the restaurant was going to be a disappointment. Finally the pasta dishes came, each person receiving theirs with mine being the last to be served. When it was, it was Rigatoni, but in a cheese sauce opposed to the tomato sauce Amatriciana is made with. I told the waiter and he looked puzzled for a minute then went back off to the kitchen to cook my actual dish. When it finally came out, when everyone else was halfway through their meals, I began to eat it. It was plain, under-seasoned and the bacon which laced the sauce was salty to a level of almost inedibility. After questioning my friends, theirs too were disappointing, with a few exceptions, including the pizzas [but then again, how hard is it to screw up a pizza?].Very disappointed, will not be going again.

Went on Saturday evening to canterbury. Wanted to go try a nice non chain restaurant, and Little Italy's menu looked pretty good. Had no booking, but @17.55 Maitre'd said all the tables were reserved. We decided it was worth waiting 40 minutes for a table to become available, so popped round the corner for a beer. Returned to be placed in a thoroughfare right beside the Back door, which was permanently opened. Asked to be moved, and was assured that we'd get the next free table. Waited a further 25 minutes - mentioning to 3 waiters that we were waiting to move. Eventually another waiter moved us, to an area front of the restaurant which was completely free. So free in fact that it would have had free tables 60 minutes prior. I was so incensed by this that I sat down speechless for 2 minutes, until I realised how really shabby we'd been treated. Then walked out. The waiter acknowledged our departure without a hint of concern. Now I can't honestly say whether the food was good, bad or indifferent, as I didnt even get to first base, but I would not recommend anyone to go near such a clearly disorganised business. Have to give this one star, which is disappointing

Small and intimate, friendly service

We went in this restaurant by accident one Saturday night and found it rather welcoming.Tables were far enough apart not to feel crowded, which is a bonus in the centre of town as most restaurants there seem to pack people in. The ambience was lively without being loud. The menu was exactly what you'd expect for an Italian restaurant, so nothing out of the ordinary. Service was efficient and friendly and food appeared quickly, was well cooked and well presented. We enjoyed our meal and would happily return.
