Worst service and a swearing waitress

We went there as recommended by a friend. My friends order the steak and duck and I the fish chowder. We waited 45 minutes. My fish chowder was served on a flat plate (not a bowl as one should) It had four small musells around the rim of the plate a selection of bite size pieces of fish five or six and some pleasnt tasting sauce around it served with three peices of crusty bread. Certainly NOT fish chowder of any sort. I quietly spoke to the waitrress an older lady with blond hair and asked what this was and said it certainly wasn't fish chowder and complained that the portion was small for £11.95. What happened next was a shock. She said "oh really well this is how we serve it here" I asked where the spinach was and she said nothing. I was so taken aback I asked for the dish to be taken away. I was never asked if I wanted anything else. If this wasn't enough when taking the order from some men sitting at the table next to me my friend heard her say to one of the men " well don't have the fish chowder as she says its s...t". That was it I had enough, I called her over and said " how dare you say what you said and bring our conversation up with other customers". She said it was OK because she new them. My friends and I were furious by now and just asked for the bill. My friend went to pay for his food and quietly said to the waitress at the bar that he was sad the evening was spoiled by this episode. No sooner as he was saying this another younger lady came rushing over saying get out of my f...g bar. I had to drag my friend out as he was shaking so much. I have never witnessed such an appalling scene and have never been in a restuarant where I have had such rudeness. Firstly, fish chowder is a soup/broth not a plate of soggy fish drizzled with a bland sauce. Secondly, the customer always comes first as they are the ones who pay your wages. I was a chef for 8 years working in every restuarant in Park Lane back in the 80's. I tasted my friends food and it was OK but service like that .....not nice and would never go there again or recommend it. Stay well away.
