About Us

The Grange Residential Care Home provides long term residential care for the elderly. Enquiries for short term stays and respite care are also always welcome.

Situated within two miles from Ashford in Kent we are within easy reach of Ashford International rail station and the M20.

The Grange is a grade two listed Georgian House standing in its own grounds of approximately one acre.

Opened as a Residential Home by the Friend family in 1989, The Grange remains in the family to this day. We are proud to have provided care for more than twenty five years.

Accommodation

Accommodation is provided by nineteen standard single rooms, three standard en-suite and four large en-suite rooms that are suitable for dual occupancy. There is lift access to all floors.

Our Facilities

The home is equipped with a modern ‘nurse-call' facility that allows residents to call for assistance either by call points situated in all rooms and areas but also via a remote control pendant that can be worn. There are two sitting rooms; one within the main house and a larger more communal space in The Barn wing. There is a large heated conservatory overlooking the garden and from The Barn lounge there is access to the balcony that overlooks the pond. There is a large patio from which a gentle slope leads to the level garden. These areas provide ample seating for residents and their guests. We have parking for twelve cars.

Our Services

We are able to provide an Assisted Outpatient service using our mobility vehicle. Clients are accompanied by a carer to attend hospital, doctors, and dentist appointments. All food is home-cooked and most dietary requirements can be accommodated. We have scored 5 / 5 in a recent Food Standard Inspection. Meals are generally taken in the dining room but can be taken in resident's rooms. A professional hairdresser visits twice weekly and a qualified chiropodist visits weekly, the cost of these services is paid directly or added to the client's monthly account, no fee is levied by The Grange. Newspaper delivery can be arranged with our local newsagent. Regular activities include quizzes, arts and craft, bingo and musical entertainment. The house affords enough space that clients can either participate in organised activities or find a quite space to read or socialise at their leisure. Visitors are welcome at any time that is suitable to the resident. We have provided short-term and respite care in the past and enquiries are welcome.
