I too went with this school, had 2 different instructors the last of which was ok, but would read his paper and take calls from other students while I was driving, and cut my lessons short. My lessons would be the same old routine every week, drive to st albans, do manouvers drive back to hemel along the same roads all the time, I wanted experience driving on roads not just enough to get me though my test! My adi wanted me to book my test, and I didnt feel ready, but I booked it anyway. He they had a little system of swaping everyones tests so that they got a later one of another pupils if they were not quite ready etc, which resulted in myself losing the money, because he re booked my test, I didnt get confirmation of when it was, so I missed it! I ended up having lessons cancelled beause he was on "holiday", and i never heard anything back when he was back off holiday, so left the school and havent had a lesson with anyone since. I know I can 'drive' a car, but I need to build my confidence, to be able to drive a car again now, and re pass my theory! Steer clear, lower charges dont = goo dvalue for money when you get messed around.

I took 2 lessons with Bells driving the school. The instructor himself was a nice guy and his explanations were very clear. However, he answered numerous phone calls during the lesson and other times just let the phone ring which posed as a distraction for a new driver! Furthermore, the lessons were meant to be 50 mins long - and you only get 40 mins! For £20 per 50 mins, you want that extra 10 mins! When I called up to check that they were indeed for 50 mins and to explain the short lessons I had recieved from my instructor to Bells Driving School, and to ask if I could have 50 min lessons from the next lesson onwards, the woman on the line was dismissive. However, she said she would speak to my instructor and call back. When called back, she told me that my instructor had told me I was lying and then accused me of lying! I hadn't asked for my money back and not asked for more than what I was paying for, so I explained to her that I had no reason to lie! She was unwilling to help and so I decided to leave the Driving School Since then I have a new instructor with a new driving school. When I explained that I had left my old "driving school" because of a bad experience, he automatically guessed the name of the school and said a lot of other students had had trouble with them. it might just be a few people's bad experience, but this is just to warn you in advance to be weary............. p.s. the first 2 lessons were meant to be £10 each. I paid £20 for both 9as you have to pay for the next lesson in advance) and have not recieved any repayment.
