As you are aware this was my first visit to Virtues having opted previously for an expensive salon in town for many years. I had to limit the number of times I went as the prices were so high however they offered a pleasant service that I believed was only available at the higher end of the market. How wrong could I have been – my only regret is I wished I had discovered Virtues sooner as I could have been enjoying regular haircuts and been supporting a really good business on my doorstep. What initially struck me was how lovely, warm, inviting, pretty and what a calm atmosphere the salon had, and how professional all three members of staff conducted themselves. I could not tell upon first impressions who was the senior, manager or junior as they all portrayed such a professional image. Being served quality coffee in nice cups similar to what you receive in Costa was amazing too, I really only believed this happened where I used to go. The initial consultation with Shelley was thorough and I appreciated her asking the other Senior Stylist her opinion as this gave me complete confidence in Shelley even before she had washed my hair or picked up scissors. Shelley's skills at washing were perfect, nice firm pressure and plenty of warm water. What amazed me was the head massage that followed after shampoo and conditioner - I was used to this, but again only believed I got that service because I was paying the price! I was so happy and pleased that Shelley did the head massage and to learn that this is a service that is included at Virtues. Shelley cut my hair beautifully and Sam only had a few tiny snips to go over which was also lovely as I went away feeling I had been given the best attention from all staff. My confidence wearing my cut was high and I was proud showing off to friends and family and I have been recommending Virtues. I will be back on a regular basis for a trim with Shelley and in the meantime as her prices as very reasonable and I loved the level of her service I shall book in for a set experience and also hair-up experience. Great local business in Bitterne, couldn't fault it and compares equally with the main high street larger salons in town without the sky high prices. Excellent team of girls - well done.
