Hidden away in the centre of students-ville (the Polygon), the Fitzhugh used to be frequented by Southampton FC fans when the Dell was still located at the bottom of Milton Road. I assume the establishment has lost a fair bit of business since the club moved to St Mary's but it is still a good pub to visit. The Sunday roasts are top-notch and the variety of beers on offer is commendable.Although it is located in an undesirable location, the Fitzhugh should be visited at least once in your lifetime!

The Fitzhugh isn't a bad pub, but while the Dell was in Milton Road, I'm sure it did really well with Southampton supporters before/after matches. But now they've moved down to St Marys it doesn't seem to have changed much and it always seems to be empty these days. They're located within two of the busiest student streets for Southampton Solent University and they make no real attempt to cater for the students at all.Its not that friendly when you go in and there are two big dogs in there who constantly seem to be around while you're trying to have a drink. Not my kinda place!
