The Quayside Southampton is my favourite pub for a night out at the weekend. * Location * The pub is in the centre of Southampton near to the docks, it is on the right hand side as you enter the complex known as leisure world. It is next to a number of nightclubs, the casino and shops such as IKEA. * Parking * The pub does not have parking of its own as such but it shares a large car park with the leisure world complex so it is never a problem. * Facilities * - Toilets including a large disabled toilet also. - 2 pool tables and darts board. - Large tv screen for music videos and live sports. - A cash machine but it does charge you to use it. - A number of quiz and jackpot machines. - Inside and outside seating. * The food * They offer quite a varied reasonable priced menu including burgers, steaks, currys, snacks etc. They also offer Roast dinners on a Sunday. I have had food in the pub a number of times, and even though the chef and menu has changed so many times in the last 2 years the food always stays at a reasonable standard. It is not the greatest i have had but its not terrible either. It is not my first choice for eating out. * Drink * The pub offers a large selections of wines, beers and spirits. They also have a very good varied cocktail and shot menu. Cocktails can be purchased 2 for £6.50 at certain times and i can highly recommend them. The drinks are reasonably priced for a pub, but they are not as cheap as say somewhere like wetherspoons. * Events * In the week they offer pool championships and quiz nights. On Saturdays they have their resident DJ simon who is fantastic. On sundays they hold Karaoke which is always good fun. * Staff * I am friends with a few of the staff who are always quick and friendly. But they do change their staff a lot as they cant seem to keep them for long. There are a few miserable faces who needs a rocket up their bum to get them going but the manager is always there with a smile and happy to help with any problems. * Interior * They have a lot of inside seating, plenty of tables for eating, a small dance floor and sofas for relaxing with a drink. The whole pub is still in pretty good condition but is coming near to needing a small refit i think. It is always clean and fresh and the toilets are always clean and fully stocked. All in all the pub has a great atmosphere on a friday and saturday night and very close to leisure world for clubbing afterwards.
