Good traditional pub in a studenty area
The Crown is situated in a predominantly studenty area, but due to it's more traditional take on things, it attracts a different clientele to most in the area - older people living and working nearby, as well as staff and students from the University.They have a good selection of beers, and a good menu. The food is good value, but not the most amazing pub food ever. As someone else has said - the crown burger is great! I was a bit disappointed when I tried the ceasar salad though, as it had honey and mustard dressing as opposed to caesar dressing!

good old pub
This is a classic old pub and is a lovely place to go for a meal or a drink. It has a large selection of ales and beers, many from the local area such as Ringwood. The food is above average pub grub for this area and they do a mean roast on a sunday. Also recommended is the crown burger. It is conveniently located close to the university so is popular with students and university staff as well as those who live in the highfield area. One of the better places to go around highfield. The atmosphere is always welcoming and friendly.
