Located at the Portswood end of Lodge Road next to the Tesco Express petrol station the pub has parking for several cars out the back. Drive in to the Tesco car park and you will see the pub Car park at the back right as you come off Lodge Road.At a glance one might be mistaken or thinking that this is a bit of a dive, but don't be fooled by first appearances! The atmosphere is very friendly, the beer's good and the pool is very good value for money - only 70p last time I was there and the table at the back of the pub has a faulty mechanism so if you put a 50p in there and slam the money draw home hard you can play for just 50p a game! Student prices in a public bar. Awesome. And ignore what that other guy said about staying away when they have music on! They have some absolutely blinding stuff on there, often a bit different, a bit quirky, you might get acoustic guitar or accordions but its always a pleasure! As I said the beer is usually pretty good (I'm a real ale man), the food is passable and excellent value for money. The toilet ain't that nice but if you must go for a sit down job the toilet at Tesco is right across the forecourt.Perhaps not a "first date" location but a great place to go with friends or even on your own.Oh and one more thing - they have one of those quiz machines in there with Block Busters and "who wants to win a tenner" and such games which I think is quite fun! They also have a juke-box but its one of the old style physical ones so the selection is fairly limited.

This is on Lodge Road just up from the petrol station. Well this place is what it is really: a boozer. Last time I was in there it seemed a bit dark and dingy, but its a good old pub. Sometimes there is some live music, so avoid these evenings if you want to talk to someone. They have a fairly good selection of beers and all the normal drinks.Probably not the best place for a first date or if you want somewhere airy for a chat.I think they do cheap breakfasts, so may be worth going just for those!
