I'm lucky: this is my local. It's the first place I've found in the UK to dull the pang of longing for Dixon Street. (If you don't understand that, go to Sydney.) Short menu but in no way limited - it is well focused. Not every dish exactly to my taste, but so what? Look around, everything is to somebody's taste. "Hawker's Fare" (the starters) tempts you to loop through the list and not bother with mains. But that would be a mistake. The noodle soup meals are excellent, tasty and satisfying: duck, mixed meat, prawn won-ton (a fave) or seafood. Though I've never gone for the tofu soup option, my veggie connection rates it high. Of course, that leaves you no room for a stir-fry or "from-the-barbecue". Tough luck, you'll just have to visit again. But not when I'm trying to get a table, please. Advisable to book Friday - Saturday evenings, but it can also be packed at other times. Staff friendly and efficient, and also multi-talented: one of them did the striking bamboo mural around the serving hatch
