The Last Post is a Wetherspoons pub so the food and drinks are very cheap with lots of drink offers available. Unfortunately the food isn't great. The pub doesn't play any music so it's easy to have a conversation but it gets very busy on weekends and evenings so you may find it difficult to find a table or anywhere to sit. It can also take a long time to get served at the bar. The pub itself is not very well decorated and could use a bit of a make-over. However it is very central and easy to get to. Good for students on a cheap night out.

The Last Post is located right near Southend Central train station and is absolutely massive! Although that does not stop the place being packed to the rafters of a weekend night! The Last Post is reknowned and well known as being the place that everyone goes to before they hit the clubs on a Friday night due to the cheap drinks, reasonably priced food (you get what you pay for!) and its proximity to the train station so is THE meeting point for most before a night out on the town! There are doorman on the door and no football colours are allowed, ID is stringently checked so dont think because you are 25 you dont need to bring your drivers licence or passport with you! Despite being located in Southend Town Centre I have never encountered any trouble in The Last Post as it is mostly a young crowd looking to get ready for a night out.A must visit with your mates for a few cheap bevvies before you hit the 'front!

The Last post is excellent for a cheap and friendly night out with friends in Southend. They sell cheap food and cheap drinks and all the staff are polite and helpful and friendly and helpful. The food is general bar food such as burgers and spag bol etc. The food comes out hot and if there is a problem the staff are quick to rectify it. This is also a great place to start off a night out in Southend as you can buy a pitcher of drink for less than seven pound. A trademark on the Southend scene, this huge pub is a must to start off your night!
