We are the piling and foundation specialists located in Rayleigh, Essex providing our services to London, Hertfordshire and all over the United Kingdom, Europe and the Channel Islands. Our experience and knowledge in piling and foundations goes back over 40 years.

About Us

Our fleet of piling rigs range from a small 1.5 tonne open bore piling machine to a 30 tonne rotary kelly bar piling rig. We have the capability to install open bore, temporary casing and drop hammer piles. These piling methods are used for our own projects and are available for hire with an operator and banksman.

The smaller mini piling rigs are best suited for manoeuvring into/around areas with restricted access. This makes them ideal for reinforced concrete rafts/slabs, ground beams or even swimming pools with piled foundations. Our mini piling rigs are also effective when subsidence occurs as they can be used when underpinning and installing contiguous piled walls with capping beams.

The larger piling rigs are versatile but are more suited to constructing ground beams and reinforced concrete rafts/slabs with piled foundations for houses of any size, commercial/residential buildings or even entire housing estates.

Services

All of our plant operators are fully qualified to NVQ level in the use of all of our equipment and piling rigs in order to provide a safe and efficient manner in which they carry out their duties.

Every project we undertake is designed by our structural engineers who have more than 40 years experience within the industry. This enables us to design a pile scheme to suit your structural needs.

Other services we offer include :- ground beams, reinforced concrete rafts/slabs, contiguous piled walls with capping beams, underpinning, pile caps, columns, bridges and swimming pool structures.

Piling

We have the capability to install open bore, temporary casing and drop hammer piles. These methods are used for our own projects and are available for hire with an operator and banksman.

Concrete cubes and Pile testing can be supplied upon request.
We are based in Essex but can mobilise quickly anywhere in the home counties including Kent and Surrey.

Our largest rotary piling rig weighs 30 tonnes and has a maximum drilling depth of 30 metres. We can install 350mm to 1.4metres diameter piles. A piling mat is required for this machine to keep it stable in its working position. This machine also offers temporary casing methods of piling up to 20 metres.

These methods prove invaluable when drilling through loose strata in the upper levels and drilling into clay in the sub levels. This machine is large but is also able to drill close to existing buildings provided the headroom is available.

Also, this machine is able to lift its auger higher than most other piling rigs of its size allowing the auger to be lifted above temporary casings and tiered sites.

We also offer a 21 tonne rotary piling rig which is ideal for one-off houses because of its lightweight crawler base and maneuverability. This machine can operate, depending on surface conditions, without a piling mat, which in turn can save customer costs.

With a maximum drilling depth of 20 metres we offer 300mm to 1.1metre diameter piles.

Mini Piling

Mini Piling is used when a site has restricted headroom, limited access or when piles are required inside existing buildings.

We've recently experienced projects of this nature in Kent and Surrey.

We offer 2 methods of mini piling.

Our open bore machine is ideally suited to clay soil conditions, and can reach depths of up to 20 metres with little headroom height required for operation. 150mm, 200mm and 300m diameter piles are offered on this lightweight machine.

The hydraulic crawler tracks close to make the machine 750mm wide making it ideal for restricted entrances such as internal/external doors and side gates.

Our drop hammer machine is slightly larger than the open bore machine but is no less effective. This machine is suited to wet sand and gravel sub soils where an open bore method cannot be achieved. Pre-formed steel piles are bottom driven into the ground by dropping a weight from predetermined heights.

This is repeated until a satisfactory set has been reached to take the KN loading of the pile. We support 150mm and 220mm diameter piles with this machine.
