Fantastic food.... but inconsistant.
I lived around the Moulsham area of Chelmsford for a number of years and have eaten in the ShahJan restaurant and eaten take aways many times. My issue with the restaurant is the seemingly inconsistant quality of the dishes. I don't know if they have different chefs for different nights of the week but both my partner and I noticed significant differences in the same dishes when we ate them on different occasions. At it's best, I would honestly say that this is one of the best indian restaurants around - if only it's best was served up all the time.

Fantastic! Best Indian Ever
Having been to many Indian restaurants over my time I have to say that I have been to none with the high standard of service and food as this restaurant. It's absolutely fantastic!!!! The service is brilliant and its not just 'everything ok with the meal', they really look after you and make sure that everything is attended to, you recieve service like your royalty! The menu is amazing with wide variety and lots of interesting dishes each tasting equisite, and you can even have your own curry made by the chef exactly how you like and what you want! Fantastic, you have to go to this wonderful establishment.
