I have not paid for them to do any tree work. But I did see their van in a traffic queue and someone inside was eating a sandwich and casually throwing bits of crust and other parts of it out the window onto the road. Not nice. So based on what I know of the business I would not ask them to do any work for me

I ordered the 2.5 cubic metre bag tree load from ALS Tree Surgery and I was promised “10 inch logs with 90% hardwoods" (see their website) for £140.00. When the order arrived on January 19th, it was dropped in my driveway. As I unloaded and began to attempt to stack the logs, it was clear that I was delivered chunks of wood (3" -6" long) and that the majority (80%) was soft wood. I immediately called and spoke with Natalie. She apologised and said that “it was the end of the season and that was all they had left" and she promised to “talk to her guys" to see what happened. Over the course of the next two 2 weeks, I called several times before getting an answer. I spoke to Natalie again and she promised to come get the wood and have a check dropped off. One week later, the wood was picked up, no check was dropped off. I have called ALS at least 20 times since they picked up the wood. I have spoken with Natalie 4 times. Twice she has told me the “check was in the mail", the other two times she was “looking into why I did not receive the check yet". It has been 60 days since they picked up the product that I returned and I still do not have my refund. I will warn everyone against doing business with this company. They are dishonest, they lie and they have kept my money after I returned their poor product. Stay away from them. Update I am writing this review as follow-on to my previous review and a response to Natalie's comment. I order 2.5 cubic metres of wood and I returned 2 which is why the refund I have been pursuing is £100 not £140. After I posted my first review, I made one last attempt to call Al's Tree Service, speak to Natalie and see about my refund. I did speak with her and on Monday 8 April, she told me she sent a wire transfer to my account for the £100 “around 4:30pm". I checked the bank at the end of the day on Tuesday and there were no funds received. On Wednesday, still no funds so I called again and spoke with a man who said he was “right next to Natalie when she did the transfer, just give it a few days". I checked my account this morning (Friday 12 April), still no funds so I called and had an unpleasant conversation with the same man who now tells me they cancelled the wire transfer when they saw my first review. Since my bank tells me that domestic wire transfers occur within the same day I contend that it was never sent in the first place and I stand by the honesty and accuracy of my reviews and by my first assessment. This is a dishonest company, who have lied to me for months about refunding my money when they had no intention of doing so, and they picked up their product. Stay away from them.
