In every Hallmark care home, we focus on creating a community –
a community that offers activity, independence and choice.

We provide relationship-centred care, which means we build a relationship with every resident, listening to their stories, learning all about their lives, to create a picture of the whole person. It's about giving residents the choice to live their lives the way they really want to.

About Us

We are Hallmark Care Homes, previously known as Hallmark Healthcare, established in 1997. We're a family-run business and we believe this family feel filters through into all of our homes.

We currently run 18 care homes across England and Wales and are in the process of building several more. In this section, you can find out more about our story and read our charter.

2012 saw the opening of Admiral Court care home in Leigh-on-Sea and Bucklesham Grange care home in Ipswich. Maycroft Manor care home in Brighton is due to open in late November 2013 and work has begun on our new care home in Lightwater, while we also have sites in and Upminster and Rugby.

Our Services

In every Hallmark care home, we provide relationship-centred care. Relationship-centred care is another step on from person-centred care. It's about really getting to know the resident and their history: their likes, dislikes, what makes them happy or sad, what their physical needs and preferences are. We want to know what they did before they came to live with us just as much as we want to know how they'd like to live now. It's only with that understanding that we can ensure every resident is able to live a fulfilled, meaningful and happy life.

How do we do it? First, each resident is allocated a keyworker who will be their main contact for everyday care delivery. If the resident has a nursing need they'll also be allocated a named nurse, who will be their contact for all their nursing requirements. This ensures continuity of care by people who know the resident well.

Each keyworker helps the resident to complete “My Life Plan" which details their life prior to coming to live with us and states how they wish to live their life. So if it's important to someone to listen to Radio 4 every morning; or carry on a love of gardening, baking or music; or continue to go to a weekly coffee morning; or help with domestic tasks; it's all recorded there. Wherever possible, we want residents to carry on with the day-to-day activities they've enjoyed all their lives.

We believe our relationship-centred care approach builds stronger relationships between residents, staff, relatives, friends and visitors to the home.
