Super pub in delightful East Sussex

Mrs Magellan and I had luncheon here during a ten mile walk across the beautiful Sussex Downs, an experience which I describe fully on hereorthere.com. Jevington is not far from Beachy Head, the highest chalk sea cliff in Britain - about sixty miles south of London. We sat at a table in the garden which enjoyed fine views.Mrs Magellan enjoyed her smoked salmon, scrambled egg and brown toast. It being Sunday, roast beef was de rigeur. It was the Special of the Day and came with all the trimmings including Yorkshire Pudding and swede. We shared a very generous portion of white chocolate ice cream - three scoops in fact. What a contrast to the stingy Carluccio chain that only offers two!Sevice was cheerful and willing. With beer and cider the bill came to £28.We liked it so much we returned for dinner, this time inside the cosy pub. That too was excellent.
