Amazing restaurant in Eastbourne...

My wife and I often travel to the South Coast of England to get away from it all in London and have been very lucky when choosing suitable hotels. Unfortunately finding a place to eat is harder than it sounds. On a recent trip down to Eastbourne we wanted to find a decent restaurant to eat with a good atmosphere but more importantly good food. Unfortunately we were surrounded by the normal big brand, eat cheap Italian establishments that seem to be on every 3rd corner these days which we could have visited about 100 metres away from where we live. It was whilst sitting in a local pub searching all manor of on-line directories for a place to eat that we over heard a group of similar aged people discussing Okto restaurant and bar. After hearing the group comment on how accommodating the staff were, combined with the fantastic atmosphere, decor, good wines and AMAZING food I decided to introduced myself as the nosey bloke in the pub and ask if they could tell us how to get there?A word of mouth recommendation surely has to be the best?Thankfully they were very happy to point us in the right direction. We weren't disappointed!!! amazingly good looking building tucked away down a nice quiet road. The smile on our faces meant we just had to try it out. We were welcomed by very friendly staff who showed us to our table. It wasn't until we sat down that I noticed that this restaurant was quite busy but the size and open plan style and the space between the tables meant it still remained romantic and felt quieter than it actually was. A real success in my opinion. The music was nice and set the mood very well. The great menu meant we had a very good choice of what all seemed to be amazing meals. What I really liked was the use of local produce within the menu, and the quite large range of vegetarian meals. We decided there and then that this was going to be a 3 course meal...We were presented with outstandingly good looking food and were very happy to taste that the presentation wasn't the only good thing about this restaurant in Eastbourne. We have since been back to Eastbourne 3 times and we have of course been back to Okto each time.I would recommend this restaurant and Bar in Eastbourne to anyone.
