Went on Saturday18.4.15. Although the décor is nice it does have plastic tablecloths which are 'mock' lace. The waitress dis have a white apron and cap but finished off with big modern ankle boots. We waited a long time for our order to be taken and when it arrived the cakes came before the sandwich. The prawn sandwich was very expensive as over £4 and the filling tasted like a sandwich filling from ASDA. I asked the waitress if I could just have scone and butter rather than the cream tea and she said fine. When the scone arrived it came with cream and jam. The waitress confirmed that I had only ordered a buttered scone but I might as well have the cream and jam as I was paying for it!!! WHY? I accepted the jam which was a minute amount in a small pot, just enough for one side of the scone...certainly not lashings. In my opinion the scone was not home made but came warmed up. Not sure why. My friend said that her cake didn't taste home made either. When the bill came it was almost £20 for 1 sandwich, a scone, a piece of cake and 2 cups of tea. Very disappointed..

Queenie May's tea rooms in Brighton Marina, was a pleasure to go to. All the waitresses wore traditional Victorian uniforms & the decor was like being transported back in time. All the cakes were homemade & the carrot cake was to die for. A must visit.
