My husband & I booked St John's Guest House mainly because it had onsite parking, seemed good value, and the pictures on the website looked pleasant enough. Although we had never been to Weymouth before, It was very easy to find as it was directly opposite St John's Church (the spire clearly visible on your way in to Weymouth - and no the church bells do not ring on this church!). We thought that we may have initially found the wrong place as the building looked very good with a different colour scheme and frosted windows - It looked a lot different than the original pictures we had originally viewed on their website. It transpired that the Guest House was under new ownership and having just taken over during the summer, the new owners Justin & Jade had closed down over Christmas to undertake a refurbishment of the property. The result of their hard work was plain to see as the room we stayed in was very nicely decorated, had a flat screen tv with dvd, new shower room with corner shower and we were informed that we were the first guests to try out the new beds. Breakfast was served in the breakfast room which was light and airy with a fireplace, and looked very french country. There was a good choice of hot and cold food available for breakfast, and I can say that both of us thought that the Full English was superb. To summarise we found the accommodation good quality and very clean and comfortable. The food was very good. The onsite car park was appreciated, and the owners made us feel very at home and welcome. St John's Guest House played a large part in making our first stay in Weymouth an enjoyable one. We would highly recommend to anyone visiting Weymouth.
