Sumptuous home cooked food from special restaurant

This gem of a restaurant is possibly Dorsets' best kept secret. Fabulous cream teas, and the finest selection of home cooked meals I've ever come across. Located just off the main high street in Christchurch, this is one restaurant that's well worth a visit. The staff were really friendly and efficient, the food was wonderful and really inexpensive. First class experience. The surrounding area is also brilliant for shopping and sightseeing.

We stopped in enroute to Bournemouth. We waited around 45 minutes for simple food. In fact, everyone there waited long for their food. Another couple left just prior to us, telling the waitress that 40 minutes was too long to wait for a jacket potato. I approached them to ask when our very long awaited food was going to arrive and was told 10 minutes MORE! I asked if they could get a move on... and the owner/chef came out and said 'I am not serving you!' he obviously is completely in the dark that customers may not wish to wait a long time for a quick bite to eat. If the food is going to take that long perhaps they should warn you so you know you will grow old whilst waiting for the food. It seemed like a nice place but if this owner was a woman he'd be accused of having PMT. I cannot believe how rude he was not at all apologetic about the wait or our desire to be served. Best to go there on a rainy day when you have hours to kill... not when you want a quick spot of lunch. To the owner- the customer is always right, particularly when they have been waiting an excessive amount of time... We wasted a precious hour of our lives only to be asked to leave because.... we to know how long our food was going to be... Sir, I sincerely hope you were just having a bad day... or perhaps becoming the Gordon Ramsey of Christchurch

This is a great place for all ages, even the ducks from the river next to the ducking stool come in for the deliuos food. The chef i believe taught Gordon Ramsey to cook. I recommend it highly to all.

Hi I came across this lovely tea room's cafe when visiting Christchurch on business. I needed to rest and recharge my batteries so to speck so I opted for the full English breakfast which was absolutely delicious. The service was first class and friendly. If you're in the area I can recommend this place 100%
