Artwave West is one of the principal independent contemporary art venues in the Southwest showcasing a unique collection of high quality exciting and dynamic art for your home and office interior.

Artwave West is a large Contemporary Art Gallery set in a former public house and easy to find on the A35 in Morcombelake, Dorset.

The Gallery
Artwave West opened in 2009. A regeneration of the former Ship Inn created a stylish open plan viewing space, the specialist museum lighting system and crisp uncluttered décor provide a superb place to enjoy looking at and contemplating artworks. The gallery has established itself as one of the principal independent contemporary art venues in the Southwest; visitors frequently describe the gallery as uplifting and inspiring.
The Artists
The gallery carefully selects its artists, attracting professional practitioners with impressive national and international exhibiting profiles, as well as talent-spotting younger and lightly exhibited artists. Many ‘discoveries' have gone on to receive prominent exhibition offers. A number of regular Artwave West artists are frequently selected for prestigious competitive exhibitions at venues such as The Mall Galleries and The Royal Academy, often winning well-regarded awards, many have had works shown in national museums and have held exhibitions in cultural capitals such as London, New York and Venice.
The Vision
Artwave West concentrates its exhibiting on artists who have shaped a distinctive personal vision around the discourse between abstraction and figuration. Whilst a number are based in the Southwest and take inspiration from the landscape and seascape of the region, many others come from further afield, there is a particularly strong representation from London and the North of England. This reflects a desire to showcase a unique collection of high quality exciting and dynamic art.
The Exhibitions
The independent nature of the gallery and its spirited approach to the selection of artists ensures a distinctive presentation not seen anywhere else. Exhibitions with several artists bring together fascinating combinations of artworks while solo shows present an artist in more depth. The gallery works closely with artists to ensure prime works are exhibited.
The Events
Exhibition opening evenings and first day openings are an opportunity to meet the artists and enjoy discussion about their work. The gallery also participates in offsite exhibitions.

Artwave West has a collection that will fit many styles of domestic interior. A particular provision is for contemporary style homes. The gallery also exhibits artworks suitable for offices and other interior public spaces. Small scale paintings, large canvas works, and framed paintings and pastels are always available.
