A wonderful surprise

My partner, Tess, and I had found some native amethysts in a mountain stream, and also tiny pearls in sea mussels during a holiday in the Scottish Highlands, so we decided to incorporate these into a commemorative eternity ring. We initially had an unfortunate experience with another local jeweller, who had made a very thick ring with a groove to hold the stones. This lasted a couple of days before the initial contents fell out and were lost. We searched online and located Mr. Cooper, who very decently and honourably refused to criticise this ring, but explained that neither the remaining stones or pearls we had were of sufficient quality to be used for this project. However, he offered to take the first ring in part exchange and make a new one, but with better quality stones and small cultured pearls. A week later we returned to examine a beautiful piece of work that would grace any jewellery shop window in the High Street. Tess was absolutely thrilled....and so was I!
