Good samways
I am a regular customer at samways spent hours in the shop all members of staff are happy and helpful and I am always greatful of the excellent service they provide. They must be annoyed with me and all the problems I have had with my bike but they are always happy to help and try to get me the best deals. For example my bike is in now and it has taken over three weeks to get fixed through no fault of there own so the bloke phil phoned up and had a go at dmr and got the problem sorted all the guys there try to find the best ways to quickly sort the problem out

Great great samways
What a brilliant shop, staff were so helpful he spent well over an hour explaing all about the bikes making my choice a lot easier. This will be my third bike from samways and each time had brilliant service unlike other cycle shops in derby. The workshop is also equally fantastic with friendly staff and great service. I can highly recommend samways as I have always had great service from both staff in the shop and workshop but be warned the shop can get very busy on Saturdays so be prepared to que at the counter Well done Samways.

Poor. Zero customer service
I hate this shop. Previous visit I never got served at all - waited at the 'service' desk while staff chatted and ignored me. Last visit just wanted a tyre pump and didn't have time to go elsewhere. Nobody asked if I wanted help so I approached a member of staff and asked if he could look at my bike to see what valve type I'd got. He refused to walk 10 feet to my car because it was raining so I had to get the bike out and bring it to him. He got a pump then gave me a patronising speach pointing to the packaging and saying "now what type of valve do you think you've got?" He then refused to let me try the pump until I'd payed for it. They don't even open on Sundays. Go to JE James in Chesterfield where the service is always excellant. Hurry up Samways and go bust you useless excuse for a bike shop.

Poor poor samways
A friend of mine over derby way recommended samways as being very good & reliable. I took my bike to get 2 pairs of hope v2 brakes fitted (They were charging £185 each for the kit, a tenner extra for braided hoses & £15 per brake for fitting...so a total of £420), there was some debate that they would fit my bike but that is why I went to the 'experts' as I am not the most mechanically minded. I got the spooky feeling at the time that they weren't going to do anything... their customer service was poor..not wot i would expect, but they never said at the time or rang to tell me that this was the case. I rang on at least 3 occasions...4 weeks.nothing..6 weeks and on the third occasion the gentleman that I talked to said they had been put on back order (ie a code word that they had done nothing)& he would order them. After another 4-5 weeks of waiting I went into the shop (I live over 80 miles from derby) and they still hadn't done anything, nor had the courtesy to inform me, they had both work & home number. I took the bike back with a rather larger amount of dust on it than previously. Well there is a big sign in the workshop area that says they charge customers £20 week storage if they forget to pick it up..So does that mean samways owes me around about £300????? So the next time you want to spend over £400 spend it anywhere but samways.
