pricing and pressure

Kwikfit have a very clever but pricy from of pricing. They will quote for example; £40 for front brake pads ALL IN which includes labour etc. Job done. When they strip it down they will tell you it also needs new disks as they are very very poor. Now you would think they would just charge the price of the disks as everything is already stripped down and ready...yes? NO ! They also have a standard charge for the disks...fitted...Let's say $60 again which includes the labout for the removal of wheels, pads etc. BUT THEY ARE ALREADY REMOVED YOU THINK!!! it makes no difference to them. "It's how we do it." The Kwikfit fitters must have a bonus sytem the way you are pressured into things you may not want. An old lady up the road from me took her car in...just for the pads ! and then the disks...and then they phoned her and told her that while taking it out for a test drive a rear spring snapped so she would now have to buy 2 springs and they would fit them for £100 !! But that wasn't all ! When lookng at the broken spring the fitter noticed that the rear tyres were both illegal (t had done 232 miles since it's MOT) and they would also have to be changed as "I'm not allowed to release your car back to you if I consider it unroadworthy!" She had no choice but to have 2 new tyres as well. There was more to this including a feeble effort of recompense that I will not go into as it would mean naming the people involved which isn't really that fair. The fitters are told what to do by the very dark suited people who make policy for Kwikfit. I would suggest that this is the case country-wide so, in conclusion, visit Kwikfit at your peril!!
