Selling? Don't bother with Indigo

I'm extremely disappointed with the service I have received recently from Indigo. I'm selling my property and had the big, positive spin about lots of people looking for a property like mine, lots of investors on their books and I was told the price was at a good level and achievable. So I put the property on their confidential listing. After about six weeks of next to no viewings or enquiries it was recommended to put it on the open market, which I did. It appeared on Facebook and Twitter once and supposedly in the windows of their offices and on other online resources. I did have one viewing where the buyer decided not to proceed. I had to ask how that potential buyer was looking to proceed. There was no commentary about how the viewing went or any feedback to make the property more appealing or advice on things to do to get the property sold. I emailed Indigo and in a nutshell, asked them to be more proactive in selling the property. I offered help to promote on social media and Jersey Insight to give the property more exposure. I asked if we could have an open viewing, get it in their newsletter, in the paper, online, etc, etc. All the things I would expect an agency to be doing. The response to my email was shocking. They instantly reacted and removed the property from their marketing without notice. They said, which I quote, "...vendors assume that once it is listed, it is then the responsibility of their agent to work hard (unpaid, until a sale is achieved) and sell it." I'm not sure what I would be paying them for if this were not the case. Everything I was initially told a couple of months ago has changed and now buyers, investors and lenders are not looking for properties like mine. If you are buying, I am sure you will get what you expect. If you are looking to sell and want an agency to be proactive in selling your property, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
