Without doubt the most underrated pub/restaurant within Milton Keynes. Lovely food and friendly staff, in a quiet village backing onto the grand union canal. The homemade burgers and chicken pie are my own personal favourites, but i've never been dissapointed with anything i've ordered :)

Pate starter,o.k. but Melba toast was like rubber. Main course Cod.Revolting and portion size no more than 2 bite size.Accompanying mashed peas tasted like minted soap.Whole meal was tasteless (except for soapy minted peas) Service was poor (no smile). When toast was returned as being unacceptable waiter informed us that it was Melba toast and that was how it should be i.e non crisp. Overall ambience like a morgue, very tidy and clean but no atmosphere whatsoever.Only one other table occupied, which speaks volumes. To cap it all the chalkboard outside the pub proudly proclaims 'voted best pub in the area).Eh exactly where are the other pubs 'in the area'? All in all most disappointing £25 wasted.
