The after dark club is a place that people go to, enjoy but will never admit to it! It's a dark and dingy place accessed by a secluded passageway. Drinks are cheap (and served in plastic glasses) and the music tends to err on the side of indie, rock, alternative and electro. Bank Holiday weekends are often a favourite as Friday night is given over to the best music of the 90's. All my evenings there have been sweaty, drunken and every so wonderful and despite its debauched reputation I'd recommend it to anyway who wishes to have a night away from the mainstream

after dark is probably the second most popular club in Reading. With themed nights and attracting a student crowd it is good cheesey fun.Drinks are reasonable - some may even say cheap and they do free entry on certain nights before a certain time. The floor is awful and since the smoking ban the club does smell a bit but its a good laugh and a resonably cheap night in Reading

As Rustedlaces point out this club has different themes depending on the night of the week you go to. My personal favourite is the Top of the Pops. Haven't tried the Sesame Street one yet but will definately give it a shot one night.

Tucked away behind in an alleyway behind the offices of a recruitment agency, the After Dark attracts a great mix of locals and students. Reasonably priced bar and entry. Regular nights include 80s (Success), 60s/70s/80s (Top Of The Pops), alternative (Sesame Street), 90s (The Word), and the legendary indie night - Fools Gold.Friendly security, bar staff and punters. Black walls and ceiling, and sticky floor.Keep an eye out for the stars on the ceiling!Thoroughly recommended.
